My passion for music was born growing up in the early 80s listening to Electro, Rap and electronic bands. However it was not until the late 80s that I really started getting involved in the DJ scene. Spending all my time and spare cash on Vinyl in the local record shop led to me getting a part time job there and then things started to progress. I started out by doing local Gigs and parties and went on to obtain several residencies which included Londons Blue Note in Hoxton. In the mid 90s I help set up and manage Metro Records in Southend-on-sea and was playing out at least 3 times a week at various venues. In 1999 I took on the task of Label manager for Ephemoral Recordings. Ephemoral went on to obtain moderate success in the dance scene and enabled me to gain valuable experience of the dance market first hand. I would like to think of myself as quite unique in the fact that I have played music from Latin Jazz to House. Having spent most of the early 90s playing leftfield / down tempo music and the latter part to the present playing House music! I feel that music should be appreciated no matter what genre! This attitude and love of dance music has managed to keep my enthusiasm high in the ever transient / fickle world of the dance scene. Music is for everyone and should be enjoyed not analysed!!!! I now DJ using Stantons Final Scratch and have found this a revolution! We must always remember that the scene is about the music not a format. ROCK ON BABY!
